This week, the Trump Administration laid out a new immigration ban, trampling on some of the world's most vulnerable people. Refugees from all over the world are banned from entering the United States for four months. Travellers from six predominantly Muslim countries are banned for the next three months. Children and other vulnerable people sit and wait in danger.
WE REJECT THIS. WE NEED TO BE OUT IN THE STREETS AND SAY: NO!
In support of the 24-hour City of Refuge action, Resist Trump NY, friends, and allies are gathering Tuesday evening to stand with refugees and lend our loud, clear voices to the call that the United States must remain open and free.
We will meet at Federal Hall and march to Trinity Church, which is hosting the City of Refuge event.
Note that the City of Refuge event will start and end with rallies on Tuesday and Wednesday at noon. If you can make those, please strongly consider going to those instead. This evening rally is a solidarity event geared toward those who cannot take time off work or who are otherwise only free in the evenings. Link to the main event:
